Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP was presented with the Boy Scouts’ Whitney M. Young, Jr., Service Award at the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highlands Council’s annual dinner, which took place February 21, 2019 at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. The firm was recognized for its support of ScoutReach, the urban and low-income scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America, which provides opportunities for youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in scouting activities. Currently, nearly 1,500 boys and girls participate in the ScoutReach program throughout the greater Pittsburgh and surrounding regions. The Service Award is named in honor of Whitney M. Young, Jr., civil rights leader and former executive director of the National Urban League.

Based on the results from the Workplace Dynamics surveys completed by Meyer, Unkovic & Scott employees, our firm was selected to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s list of Top Workplaces in 2016, 2021 and 2022. Over 32,000 employees received questionnaires, and almost 20,000 responded.

The surveys consisted of 24 statements focused on measuring the firm’s organizational health factors, culture, atmosphere, leadership, and employee engagement, among other subjective qualities that would contribute to a workplace’s positive environment.

While the quantity of surveys received determined whether or not we could participate and be scored, it was the quality of the responses from the majority of those surveys that distinguished our firm as a Top Workplace among the other contenders.

The Legal Intelligencer has recognized Meyer, Unkovic & Scott as a finalist for Real Estate in the Best Law Firm Corporate Practice Awards. Award recipients were selected by a group of core editors and reporters from The Legal Intelligencer. The award takes into account client references, dollar amounts, department size, and revenue figures that were generated by the work. The Legal Intelligencer specially highlighted departments in which Pennsylvania attorneys handled most of the cases. Meyer, Unkovic & Scott is the only mid-size firm in Pittsburgh to be recognized.
