Meyer, Unkovic & Scott is pleased to welcome two new associates to the firm – Laura M. DeGeer and Alexandra (“Alex”) G. Kania. Both previously worked as summer associates for the firm.
DeGeer earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and B.A. from Western University. During law school she was awarded two “CALI Excellence for the Future Awards” for the highest grade in her class in both Property Law and International Trade Law and Regulation. In 2015, DeGeer worked as a summer intern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit under Senior Judge D. Michael Fisher. She currently resides in Shadyside with her fiancé and dog.
Kania earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and B.A. from St. Vincent College. During law school she was awarded a “CALI Excellence for the Future Award” for the highest grade in her class in Expert Witness Law. Kania previously worked as an intern for multiple organizations including the Office of General Counsel at Saint Vincent College, Office of the Public Defender for the City of Pittsburgh, and UPMC’s Corporate Law Department. She currently resides in Jefferson Hills with her fiancé and dog.
