Meyer, Unkovic & Scott attorney Ron Hicks will be a featured presenter at the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s (NGLCC) 16th Annual International Business and Leadership Conference (https://www.nglcc.org/nglcc18), in Philadelphia, Pa. from Aug. 14 to Aug. 17. He will present during the breakout session Effectively Using Legal Counsel to Transact Business — exact date and time to be scheduled.
As the business voice for the LGBT community, the NGLCC ensures that LGBT business owners have a seat at the table for both federal and local pro-business policy initiatives and interests. Using its national presence, NGLCC takes an active role in discussions with legislators and government officials at all levels of government to advance the economic interests of the LGBT community and business owners.
Hicks is a business and oil & gas rights trial lawyer who, for over 30 years, has handled emergency, complex, and appellate litigation and other business matters for a variety of clients, including LGBT+ business owners. He serves as Chair of the firm’s Energy, Utilities & Mineral Rights practice group; Co-Chair of its Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group; and a member of the firm’s Diversity and Technology committees. Hicks also serves as a Co-Chair of the U.S./Canada Litigation Group of Meritas. Hicks is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Allegheny County Bar Association. Super Lawyers® has honored Hicks on its list 11 times since 2005. Hicks graduated from Pennsylvania State University and Wake Forest University School of Law. He resides in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.
