Taxpayers have a limited window each year to file an annual tax assessment appeal and seek a reduction in assessed value and property taxes. For Allegheny County, 2023 annual tax assessment appeals can be filed between January 1, 2023 and March 31, 2023. However, the 2023 appeal deadline is fast approaching for many other western Pennsylvania counties. Most counties require that 2023 tax appeals be filed in 2022.
The upcoming 2023 tax assessment appeal deadlines for western Pennsylvania counties are:
August 1: Blair, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Indiana, Lawrence, and Westmoreland counties.
September 1: Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Jefferson, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren, and Washington counties.
