Chiara F. Orsini is a member of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott’s Intellectual Property Group. She prepares, prosecutes and protects patents, trademarks and copyrights (common law, state, federal, U.S. and foreign), and negotiates, drafts and enforces various IP agreements on behalf of clients.
She offers a unique perspective on client service. Having worked in non-legal, in-house roles interacting with outside counsel, Chiara provides to her clients legal advice that delivers solutions to their business obstacles. In addition, Chiara regularly assists clients in drafting standard privacy notices and website terms of use.
Chiara previously worked for the University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Technology Transfer. There she managed the University’s patent portfolio and all pending patent prosecution matters, developed patent prosecution strategies for various technologies, and collaborated with licensing managers and licensees to maximize intellectual property protection and value. She also interned with the Honorable Donetta Ambrose, U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania.
Chiara graduated magna cum laude from Chatham College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She is a 2000 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as a research editor of the Law Review, and was awarded a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
Chiara is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the Western District of Pennsylvania, and in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Orsini volunteers her time with several of our area’s non-profit organizations.
