W. Grant Scott II of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott Recognized in Pittsburgh as 2020 “Lawyer of the Year” for Real Estate Law

Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP is pleased to announce that W. Grant Scott II has been recognized in Pittsburgh as “Lawyer of the Year” in the practice area of Real Estate Law for 2020 by The Best Lawyers in America®.

Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant. These lawyers are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the peer review assessments.

Mr. Scott is Chair of the firm’s Real Estate & Lending Group and is the longest tenured member of the firm’s Management Committee. He counsels clients on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of sophisticated real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale, and disposition of real properties. He also advises owners and tenants on leasing agreements, counsels borrowers on financing, and works in tandem with the firm’s Corporate and Tax Departments on the real estate components of mergers, acquisitions, and dissolutions. Mr. Scott has represented many commercial property owners in tax assessment appeals and is also active in the areas of real estate litigation, real estate workouts, leasehold negotiation, and leasehold workouts. Grant is frequently selected as a mediator and arbitrator in private disputes and in matters at suit.

Mr. Scott and his wife, Cindy, have three adult children and two grandchildren. They reside in Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
